In an age where information is easily accessible, I find it quite shocking that a man like Ron Paul can be silenced so easily by the media at large. When there was a time where journalist were motivated by getting the story out, by finding and researching the truth, be it corruption, exposing corporate and government lies, we now have sensationalism and propaganda.
Recently we survived an assault on our ability to gather information freely on the web, but for how long? How long before the corporations or government snuff out and then dominate the social conscience? We're slowly being condition to accept the status quo bias.
As an American, I like to think that we have a moral obligation to support and defend our constitution. But I'm also starting to think that that is an idea that we have or are taking for granted. Like the idea of "American Patriotism" is just some phase, a nostalgic sigh of some patriotic fervor that belongs in the past and has no place in our time.
Apathy it seems has doomed us to slavery and I think/feel that maybe that's what we want. After all, we're taught to worship comfort, crave entertainment, praise the "weekend" and loathe hard work and sweat. We live in a welfare state, that has gone beyond the concept of helping its people and now is just spoiling them.
But what does this have to do with Ron Paul?
Probably nothing. But part of the message that I think he's giving us is that we need to draw away our dependency on Government and start depending our ourselves. After all, dependency is like a chain around our necks. A chain around our necks makes us slaves.
So what does this have to do with Ron Paul? Well, he's being silenced. Because he's asking us to wake up. To forgo comfort for liberty. Forgo the guided cage for freedom. To reclaim our constitution before this grand experiment of personal liberty and freedom gets snuffed out like all other great ideas that frees the people to choose for themselves.
There is a reason Ron Paul is being silenced. They're scared, Not of him, but of us. If we wake up and see that the corporations and lobbyist have taken over OUR government, OUR GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, that we will rise against their tyranny.
There is a saying, " There is no greater evil then tyranny hidden behind the mask of virtue" Well I say this, there is nothing more conclusive to our willingness to become slaves then to be temped by the easy road of excess that is not brought on by the sweat of our brow.
Beware America, our desires to be "Comforted" comes with a price if not drawn from our toils. Take back our Constitution. Ron Paul 2012
One man's opinion about the American way of life, the Constitution and current topics that effect the interpretation of the Constitution.

Are We Blind?
Never before have I found myself so awake to what I see happening around me. So awake, alert and yet somewhat dumbfounded that there are those around me that walk, talk, eat, move and shit, yet are so fast asleep.
How can this be you ask? Ok, maybe not in such a Shakespearean prose. "Oh what light doth yonder window break" Who's breaking windows? My god, I'm ranting. What I'm talking about is Ron Paul, and the media black out, the disrespect from otherwise intelligent (seemingly) news agencies that should be reporting the news unbiasedly, but now...doesn't.
I can't even fathom this. I mean, this IS a free country...right? Freedom of speech? Religion and all that hoopla? Right? You believe in it don't you? Why aren't you pissed?
Even if Ron Paul isn't your candidate, doesn't it get you just a bit pissed off seeing someone getting bullied by a system that was designed to spread the message (er...news)?
Oh and before you label me some bias wackjob Ron Paul supported, let me tell you this. I've been a wackjob long before I even heard of the man, and until this pass year, I didn't even know who he was!
I was a Obama fan! Who wasn't? After the fiasco that was the Bush administration, and the idiotic ways Bush would step over his words, who didn't long for a President that exulted charm, charisma and wit! I swear, now..that my eyes are open, I say that's how Obama won!
So here we are, 2012, we wanted change, we didn't get it. We're worse off then we should of been and I'm willing to give Obama the benefit of doubt that its not all his fault. I think the man got swallowed up by the political machine.
Now you have this old man, doctor, who has been trying to voice out his concern for years, has held steadfast to his beliefs while many of his contemporaries flow to the whim of the political machine. I ask...why?
What the hell is wrong with us? How is it not obvious to see all the types of sensationalism that plagues the news of this country? News stories that have more to do with entertainment, then education. Why have we bought into that? Why is it that no one questions it? If sensationalism is what the press wants, why continue to ignore Ron Paul?
Is it because with Ron Paul, its not sensationalism, but admittance that something is wrong with the "system"? That by allowing the man to speak and be heard, he would "OUT" the media for what it is?
A soapbox/manipulative cog in the political machine? How it is far better for the News to feed us fluff then to "upset" us with truth? That we are not #1 in the eyes of the world? That we are NOT living up to our founding fathers ideals? That we are continually getting stripped of all our rights, while they continue to treat us as mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed on shit?
Oh bother! I know at this point I'm ranting. I'm tired, its 2:18 in the morning and I have to get up at 6am to tend to my 1 year old son. Its going to be a long day.
Yet I look at him and wonder...what kind of country and I going to leave for him? What kind of ideas will go unnoticed when his voice will be made silent by the powers that be?
I love this country, but right now we need to wake up. Our forefathers gave us a liberty that shouldn't be taken for granted. But we have become lazy.
Educate yourselves damn it. Ask, why is Ron Paul being silenced? Why do they take what he says out of context. Go look at the arguments they have against him and then ask if they are valid.
Maybe you can come to a better conclusion then I did. Ether way, at least you're being active.
